Test Valley Flowers come to Morecroft

A flower seller smiles as she holds up a bouquet of flowers grown on her allotment

Yesterday I was delighted to welcome Chloe Pates of Test Valley Flowers to Morecroft for a photoshoot of her stunning flower arrangements.

Chloe grows her own flowers locally at her allotment and turned up mid morning, just about visible behind an enormous wheelbarrow loaded with blooms and long fronds of foliage.

The gazebo area became a pop up florist as her nimble fingers worked their magic, twisting the flowers into attractive bouquets. We scoured the house for vintage china, cherry cake and ancient window ledges to act as suitable backdrops; attempting to create a “Country Living” vibe.

I particularly loved these glass jars Chloe had sourced and the chrysanthemums in an old brown and white jug that once belonged to my mother.

This autumnal collection looks great on the Rayburn, which fortunately is at work during this summer heat!

After the shoot I had a lovely surprise. Chloe had filled every room of my exhibition with her beautiful flowers, enhancing the effect visually and with the lovely scent of fresh flowers. They are still looking gorgeous and hopefully visitors will get to enjoy them right through to the end of the show on Bank Holiday Monday.
